Collaboration and Change Director - LocalMotion Carmarthen

Owen Griffiths is the Collaboration and Change manager for LocalMotion Carmarthen working closely with the PSU team. He leads a community vision around the question; How can the oldest town in Wales model a radical future for everyone? LocalMotion Carmarthen centers lived experience, bringing a cultural lens to changemaking and empowerment. Owen’s background is in social practice art, curation and facilitation, exploring how art can create new frameworks, resources and systems. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, member of the Social Sculpture Research Unit, and Arte Útil and visiting lecturer at CAT (Centre for Alternative Technology). 

Ali Franks

Ali is a conscious facilitator, creative educator, applied theatre practitioner and coach with over 25 years of experience working with individuals, leaders and groups in arts, wellbeing, education and social justice settings.   

Ali trained with Sir Ken Robinson at Warwick University where she developed her passion for creativity, the arts and education.  Following on from 15 years in community arts and education as an applied theatre practitioner, Ali spent 10 years leading on the BA Applied Drama and MA Applied Theatre programmes at University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where she specialised in teaching critical facilitation.  Ali left the University in August 2025 to focus on developing her own practice as a conscious coach, creative facilitator and educator at The Reconnection Coach.   

Mariana Lopez Rojas

Project Coordinator - LocalMotion Carmarthen

Mariana supports logistics, community activities and a bit of everything within the LocalMotion team. 

Her professional background spans a range of roles, all rooted in community development, social justice and human rights.  

Mariana moved to Carmarthen two years ago with no intention of spending much time in Wales. However, she quickly fell in love with Carmarthen’s strong sense of community and decided to stay, putting down roots and building both a life and a community there.
