A people’s assembly model sits in the heart of our governance and work. The assembly is made up of 13 local people who live and work in Carmarthen. They lead projects through a devolved budget, work on partnerships and our public programme.

    Harriet Bagley

    Harriet Baggley is the founder of Carmarthen's zero waste shop, Blue Marble Refill and for the past year has been a member of the LocalMotion Assembly. She co-founded Carmarthen Together CIC and, more recently, Criwdem Celf CIC which is helping her to re-discover her practice as an artist.

  • Shahd Zorob

    Shahd Zorob

    Shahd Zorob is a British Egyptian woman living in Carmarthen. She is a proud to be a member of the Carmarthen Local Motion Assembly. She takes part in several Local Motion working groups, including the group which she leads on accessibility and disability. She has led a public walk in Carmarthen with Local Motion, and is hope to do more. Being a part of Local Motion has opened Shahds eyes to many things that she want to do in her life.


  • Louise Bird

    Louise Bird is a local community artist, living and working in and around Carmarthen. She has been running projects and workshops for people in the local community for over 17 years, often in collaboration with galleries, and organisations who support people with diverse abilities. 

    Her training as a painter brings a love of colour and pattern into her textile based work, where people can share and experiment with plant dyes, sewing and recycled fabrics.

    Being on the LocalMotion assembly has strengthened and expanded her relationship with our local creative community and given her opportunities to engage with projects like The Doughnut Economics Working Group and to join Criwdem Celf, a new community arts CIC. 

  • Richard Leggett

    Richard has lived in Carmarthen for over 40 years.  Both his daughters were born and brought up here.  He is retired now after a career in social care in Carmarthenshire and Swansea.  Richard has been a member of the LocalMotion Assembly since 2024.  He has a keen interest in the history of the town, as well as an interest in access to the countryside, and is currently the vice-Chair of the Local Access Forum.  Richard is also passionate about nature and the environment. As part of LocalMotions activities, Richard has led several of our Walks around the local area, which has combined all of these interests.

  • Winnie Finesse

    Winnie is a maker and artist, lives in Carmarthen

  • Hywel Edwards

    Hywel Edwards has been a print Graphic Designer but now concentrates on printmaking. He was the last Production Officer at Planet: The Welsh Internationalist as it entered it's second hibernation. The winter of 2025 saw success with being Peoples' Choice Award winner at The Workers Gallery with a print of a Mari Lwyd with a tankard wielding handler under moonlight.

  • Tom Lewis

    Tom is a member of the People's Assembly and is passionate about justice and human rights. He is especially involved with Carmarthen LocalMotion projects involving Walks and the new Happening Board. For many years he has been a university teacher and researcher in human rights.
